40 Acres of Outdoor Serenity at Hilton DFW Lakes Executive Conference Center

The Hilton DFW Lakes Executive Conference Center and Resort offers the perfect combination of location and amenities, whether your plans include a weekend out with family and friends, or attending an event or conference. Located less than three miles from DFW International Airport, this hotel offers hospitality and convenience, set within forty wooded acres.

Why Hilton DFW Lakes?

Business travelers will love the convenience of the airport and the fact that you can get a shuttle directly to the hotel. However, if you do have a car, note that there is no valet service at the hotel but there is free parking.

The hotel is within walking distance of Grapevine Mills Mall, the largest outlet shopping mall in North Texas. It is also the permanent home of Meow Wolf, the fourth installation in the country, Legoland, and a turtle refuge.

Just a five-minute drive from the hotel is Grapevine’s historic Main St. with one-of-a-kind shopping, family-owned restaurants, a live entertainment venue, and nine wine tasting rooms. Insider tip: The city of Grapevine has a shuttle that can take you to Main St.

I was a guest at the Hilton DFW Lakes Conference Event Center for a weekend. This was not my first time at the hotel, I have attended events there in the past, but this was my first time to stay at the hotel.

The Hotel

Built in 1983, the first thing I noticed was that there had been some significant updates. The lobby retains the atrium feel but with a more modern and sleek look. Seating is arranged in groups throughout the light and spacious atrium lobby. Check-in is old-school style, and there is 24-hour security onsite.

Room details

There are 397 rooms in either a king, double queen, or accessible king or queen configuration. The rooms and the bathrooms have been upgraded in the past year and it shows. Everything looks fresh and sophisticated.

Each room has a desk with ample workspace, good lighting, plenty of drawers and closet space, and black-out curtains.  Rooms are furnished in neutral colors with a modern aesthetic and Texas flair in the art adds color pops.

I slept like a baby in the Hilton Serenity bed, a collaboration with Serta. These mattresses are designed so that they don’t break down on the edges. I was traveling with a group of travel writers and we all agreed, that the bed was amazing. There are four layers of linens in addition to a plush mattress cover. Pillows are hypo-allergenic feathers. The Hilton bed is so popular you can purchase it with the linens.

Other amenities include complimentary HBO, a mini fridge; a Cuisinart coffeemaker; Crabtree and Evelyn toiletries in refillable eco-friendly bottles; bedside USB ports; and motion-sensitive lighting in the bathroom.

Lakeviews and nature trails

One of the best features of the hotel is the beautiful outdoor spaces including walking trails, lake views, a swimming pool, and tennis courts.

Fitness

Stay in shape on the road with a fully equipped fitness center with a men’s and a ladies’ locker room and sauna. There is also a golf course nearby.

Conference spaces

With an impressive 50,000 square feet of meeting space and the Austin Ranch event center for corporate team-building events, Hyatt DFW Lakes Executive Conference Center can accommodate any event or special occasion you can imagine. The proximity of DFW International Airport is a plus too.

On-site dining

There are two restaurants onsite, the Vineyard, which serves a buffet breakfast every morning with an omelet bar, and Bonnie & Clyde’s for dinner and drinks.

If you want to try something in the historic area, I recommend Main St. Bistro for European-style coffees and pastries or a full breakfast and lunch menu. If you have a midnight hunger pain the hotel’s 24-hour room service can answer the call.

If you need a Starbucks run there’s a shop next to the reception desk in the atrium. You can get your Starbucks coffee, a protein bar, and other typical sundries.

In conclusion

The Hilton DFW Lakes Event and Conference Center is ideal for meeting professionals, families, and sophisticated travelers.
