While many people visiting Niagara Falls tend to stick to the Canadian side, the United States side offers some fabulous views and fun attractions as well. Known as the “Honeymoon Capital of the World”, Niagara Falls, New York also boasts the world’s oldest state park – Niagara Falls State Park, right at the foot of the falls. To be close to the action and within walking distance of the Falls, the state park, the Maid of the Mist, and even the Canadian border, stay at the Sheraton at the Falls, in Niagara Falls, NY. Not to be confused with a similarly-named Sheraton on the Canadian side, the Sheraton at the Falls is located in the US.
The Sheraton at the Falls is currently undergoing an extensive renovation, which is expected to be completed in early spring 2014. Some of the guest rooms, including the one I stayed in, have already been renovated. Rooms are standard-sized but are comfortable, and are outfitted with Sheraton Sweet Sleeper beds. The hotel offers free WiFi in guest rooms and common areas, in-room coffee makers, and flat-screen televisions. I found the hotel to be surprisingly quiet. There were young children in the two rooms surrounding mine and I never heard them when I was in my room.
The Sheraton at the Falls is located adjacent to Old Falls Street, the Seneca Niagara Casino, and the Conference Center Niagara Falls. Due to its proximity to the conference center, many of the hotel’s guests are business travelers, although I also saw many families staying there. Varied facilities including a business center, 24-hour fitness center, and indoor pool target both families and business guests. A Starbucks and TGI Fridays are both located in the lobby, and room service is available. The hotel also offers an evening reception and other perks for Starwood Preferred Guest members.
Service at the Sheraton at the Falls is excellent. I had several special requests during my stay which were quickly accommodated. Staff members are friendly and helpful. Although construction for the renovation was going on during my stay, I never heard any noise.
The Sheraton at the Falls is located about 25-minutes from the Buffalo-Niagara International Airport and 70-minutes from Toronto. Most major attractions are within walking distance. The hotel is adjacent to a city parking lot, which offers overnight parking for $5 per night. To book a stay or learn more, visit their website. You can also book online through Hotels.com.
Disclosure: I was hosted at the Sheraton at the Falls.
