Eventi Boutique Hotel in the Chelsea Neighborhood of NYC

I recently had the opportunity to visit NYC for the weekend, and needed to book a reasonably-priced but centrally-located hotel. Since I was also in need of transportation to New York from Boston, I headed to Booking.com to find a vacation package. Surprisingly for the holiday season, I found a great deal for an overnight at the 4-star Eventi Hotel, a Kimpton Hotel located in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan.

Upon arriving at the hotel, my daughter and I were greeted by the friendly doorman, who carried our luggage in. Despite the fact that I’d booked a bargain deal, the front desk staff was incredibly accommodating, even upgrading us to an available corner room so that we could check in early. The decor of the hotel is what you’d expect from an upscale boutique hotel – stylish and trendy.

The rooms at Eventi are small by regular standards, but average by NYC standards. Our King room was very comfortable, however, with lots of outlets, a small desk, a flat-screen television, rain showers, floor-to-ceiling windows, and a mini bar. The hotel offers free in-room WiFi if you belong to their free loyalty program. I wasn’t a member, but it was quick and easy to sign up. Members also receive a $10 credit for the minibar.

For those guests who forget essential items, complimentary replacements are available to use – available items include hair straightening irons, phone chargers, toothbrushes, toothpaste, humidifiers, and tweezers.

If you like to work out while on vacation, you’ll be pleased with Eventi. There is a yoga mat in every room, and guests have access to free yoga programming on television. There’s also a full fitness center, and outdoor classes are offered for those who like to get outside. Guests have access to complimentary bikes during their stay.

Like other Kimpton hotels, Eventi offers a daily wine happy hour for guests. Twenty-four hour room service is available, and complimentary coffee and tea is offered in the hotel lobby in the mornings. “Big Screen Plaza” – an outdoor venue with tables, chairs, and a large screen that shows sporting events and movies daily, is free for guests and the general public and seating is first come, first served.
