Stunning views from the suites at the Shangri La

The Shangri La Hotel Paris was originally built in 1896 as the residence of  Napoleons Grand Nephew- The Prince Roland Bonapart. Since opening in 2010 this stunning building in the 16th Arrondissement has had been receiving rave reviews and is largely acknowledges as not only one of the best hotels in the city, but among the best in Europe.
The building was redesigned by renowned architect Pierre- Yves Rochon with an interior garden landscaped by Louis Benech, who have incorporated modern facilities with period decor, fusing traditional Asian design with French imperial styles. The property boasts 81 rooms, including 27 suites; almost half with views over the Seine and the Eiffel Tower, which are just a few minutes’ walk away.
The signature room is a 275 sqm (2,960 sq ft) suite -one of the largest in the city- that was originally Roland Bonaparte’s private apartment. It offers state of the art facilities, a large master bedroom with a balcony overlooking Place d’Iena, a spacious living and dining area, a private dressing room and a marble bathroom with Jacuzzi. A night in the signature room will set you back around €20,000.

Luxurious interiors and furnishings

With even the smallest rooms offering a living space of over 30msq (323 sq ft) – more than most apartments in the city – the décor and facilities are the very height of luxury and comfort.
Bulgari White Tea toiletry products are offered in every bathroom. Superior rooms start at €750 per night, while suites are available from €1,500.

The hotel also offers almost 900 sqm (9,500sq ft) of lounges and salons, a fitness and spa centre, situated in the former imperial stables, two bars, as well as full service facilities expected from a hotel of this calibre. Dining is available in a choice of three restaurants, offering French Gastronomy or Gourmet Cantonese cuisine.
A night (or two) is not cheap, however you cannot fail to be impressed and any stay will be unforgettable.
