Stay in Luxury at the Ritz-Carlton New York at Central Park

Ritz-Carlton New York Room

The Ritz-Carlton brand is synonymous with luxury, and the locations I’ve stayed in definitely reflect that. When I traveled to New York City earlier this year for work and was booked at the Ritz-Carlton New York, located right on Central Park, I already knew that I’d love the hotel. It absolutely didn’t disappoint – my stay was fabulous and the location was perfect.

I’ve been to New York City quite a few times, but had never been by the hotel. I was surprised to see that the front entrance of the hotel was pretty basic. In fact, my cab driver drove by it the first time around. There is valet parking available ($70 per night with no in and out privileges), but the valets were all occupied upon my arrival. Although I arrived in the evening, my room wasn’t ready when I checked in, due to a small issue with the mini bar. The front desk manager took my bags and offering me a complimentary drink in the lounge as I waited a short 5-10 minutes for the issue to be sorted out. My bags were brought up to the room while I finished my drink.

The Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park

New York City rooms are famously small, but my room at the Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park was fairly large. I had a corner room with a courtyard view, which was a standard-sized hotel room with king bed. The bathroom however, was huge and included a soaking tub and shower stall. The room was tucked away down a quiet hallway, and despite the location right on Central Park, it was very quiet.

Rooms at the Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park offer comfortable feather duvets and beds, as well as a choice of different types of pillows. There’s a minibar, flat-screen television, lighted mirror, large work desk, and a DVD player in the room, along with WiFi (available for an additional fee). The Asprey bath amenities and the in-room bathrobes make for a relaxing, luxurious stay.

In addition to the lobby lounge where I received my complimentary drink, the Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park offers an on-site restaurant. Room service is available. Although the food is excellent, it’s definitely very expensive. With so many more reasonably-priced options located nearby, you can easily save money by taking a few minutes to travel elsewhere. The hotel also offers a La Prairie spa.

Although I always expect good service at Ritz-Carltons, I was pleasantly surprised by how great the service was at the New York, Central Park location. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.
