Located 20-minutes from the Colorado Springs Airport, Cheyenne Mountain Resort & Club celebrates their Rocky Mountain location from the moment you enter this 217 acre resort. Grand mountain architecture, tall grandiose wood features and open windows invite the Colorado sunshine in at every step. From fine dining to a full slate of amenities, Cheyenne Mountain Resort gives travelers yet another reason to visit Colorado Springs.
Arrival
Since I’m based in Denver, it’s an easy 90 minute drive to Colorado Springs, and I’m familiar with the Cheyenne Mountain area from my multiple stays at The Broadmoor. Since my first stay at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort & Club, I am always wowed when stepping into the lobby. It’s simply huge, with its leather chairs, thick wooden beams, massive stone fireplace, soaring ceiling, and the equally sky-high windows, framing and drawing you to the “backyard” and the deck. 
The rock features on the grounds are also impressive.
Upon entering the lobby, the Mountain View Restaurant is on the left and toward the back right side is the Will Rogers lounge. Check-in is always smooth, and the bell staff are on hand to help you and your luggage navigate the expansive property to your room. 
Accommodations
The 317 rooms are scattered amongst eight separate buildings, and the bell escort was definitely needed to find my room. All rooms feature balconies with impressive views of the mountains, resort property, golf course, and/or resort pool. The “Colorado-inspired” décor again celebrates the Colorado outdoors with simple green and brown décor. My room wasn’t huge, but more than adequate and tastefully decorated. The work space was the right size and located next to the sliding glass door, tempting me to step outside rather than work.
Dining
Three onsite dining options include Mountain View Restaurant with its Colorado fusion specialties and incredible buffets; Will Rogers Lounge, delectable gourmet bites and specialty crafted cocktails, and Pineview Grille, a gourmet dining experience overlooking golf course. The dining experience here truly is exceptional, focused on Colorado Fusion specialties, in particular the Sunday Brunch and the Friday Night Seafood and Prime Rib Buffet. In-room dining is also an option, as well as the resort’s café and creamery, Elevations.

You’ll find no lack of things to do without leaving Cheyenne Mountain Resort. Year-round recreational activities include five swimming pools from its 50M Olympic sized pool to its resort pool, 35-acre lake, golf on a Pete Dye designed 18-hole championship course, 18 tennis courts, racquetball courts, indoor half-court basketball, and a full-service workout center. The on-site Lotus Spa & Salon invites guests to relax and take a moment (or a few hours) for pampering.
Colorado is known for its outdoor activities, and within minutes, guests can enjoy the Rocky Mountain air on jogging, hiking and biking paths in the area surrounding the resorts. Take the family in the summer as this family friendly resort offers Cheyenne Kidz Camp, creating programs for the kids from chef-led baking classes to scavenger hunts.
Cheyenne Mountain Resort is also the perfect place to enjoy everything Colorado Springs. A short drive away are the popular Colorado attractions: Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, Garden of the Gods, U.S. Olympic Training Center, Pikes Peak and the Cog Railway, and the charming town of Manitou Springs.
Summary
Surrounded by Colorado Springs’ naturally breathtaking scenery, Cheyenne Mountain Resort is an amazing escape tucked into the mountains. Its prime location close to Colorado Springs, but far enough away to enjoy Mother Nature. Business travelers book here during the week to take advantage of the meeting space, while leisure travelers (couples and families) spend their weekends at Cheyenne Mountain Resort and to visit the surrounding Colorado Springs attractions.
