California’s Central Coast is known for many things. Beautiful beaches, acres of vineyards and landmarks like Hearst Castle. Located midway between San Francisco and Los Angeles, Paso Robles is where many travelers make their home away from home. The Courtyard® Marriott® in Paso Robles is located just off Highway 101 in wine country, and offers a central location to explore all the area has to offer.
The Courtyard® Marriott® brand is known for being comfortable, reliable and affordable. With four floors and 122 rooms, the property in Paso Robles has no problem living up to the company’s reputation.
I stayed in a Standard King Room on the second floor. The room was spacious and very similar in layout to other Courtyard® Marriott’s® I’ve stayed in across the United States. The king bed was comfy, and the sitting area with loveseat and ottoman was a nice spot to stretch out. But since I’m often working when I travel, it’s the nesting desks in the room that I appreciated the most.
Hotel room desks tend to do double duty, holding televisions, assorted hotel pamphlets and the numerous assorted electronics folks travel with these days. If you actually have to work, it can be hard to find room, especially if you are traveling with kids. Being able to roll out the second smaller desk that sits perfectly underneath the main one above, made opening my laptop and getting some work done easy. Numerous outlets, made plugging in a breeze as well.
The newly renovated lobby features Courtyard’s The Bistro. It serves breakfast, including Starbucks® coffee, and assortment of dishes including soups and salads throughout the day. Beer and wine is also served at night. The hotel also organizes complimentary wine tastings in the lobby, so be sure to ask when you check in.
The hotel is located close to historic downtown Paso Robles. More than 250 wineries call Paso Robles home and Hearst Castle, one of the area’s more popular attractions, is about an hour’s drive away.

If you’ve scheduled some downtime into your Paso Robles stay, the Courtyard Paso Robles has an outdoor heated pool and whirlpool. There’s also a 24-hour Fitness Center.
In expected Courtyard Marriott fashion, the hotel offers a nice selection of extras like on-site laundry machines (laundry detergent is offered free of charge at the front desk) and a Market area next to the front desk where you can grab drinks and snacks 24/7.
Wi-Fi and parking are both complimentary. The Courtyard Marriott Paso Robles is smoke free.
Rates for a Standard King Room range from $129 to $329, depending on the season and special events. You can also compare rates at Booking.com.
