During a recent Cleveland stay, my husband, son and I headed to the Courtyard Cleveland Airport South, a Marriott property minutes from downtown. Comfort, affordability, and a bit of class were the selling points. Initially, I checked out Cleveland’s downtown hotels because of the fine time we had at the Westin last December. Sometimes, though, staying downtown seems like too much work. This was one of those times so a suburban location in Middleburg off I-71 was a better fit.
Our Courtyard Marriott’s room with its king-size bed and sofa-bed couch is a perfect fit for a couple with a teenage son. Or just the couple –or just one person who likes a lot of room. I loved the restful, tasteful color combo of grey and blueish hues and decor that combines a modern sleek feel with usefulness.
A large flat screen TV, refrigerator, coffee maker, soft lighting, and plenty of outlets to plug in several people’s gadgets at the same time, create an environment for hanging out. The marble sink vanity outside the bathroom is another detail perfect for families who might be vying for getting ready for bed or ready for the day space.
Soft, comfy bedding and Paul Mitchel shampoo and conditioner are a bit of pampering panache.
The rest of Courtyard Cleveland Airport South also has much to offer. The lobby shares an open space with the restaurant and business center where each area flows into the next with much left over to gather and visit. The restaurant is bistro style that serves food in the morning and evening. Breakfast options range from classic oatmeal to an English muffin sandwich of egg whites, spinach, Havarti cheese and roast turkey. Dinner options include starters like hummus and BBQ flat-bread pizza and a variety of sandwiches.
We didn’t get up early enough to catch the breakfast and we were out during dinner time, but the ambiance is chic and chat ready. Along with meals, you can grab Starbucks coffee and Starbucks type noshes.
For on-the-go or fix in your room eats, the sundry/convenience store connected to the lobby has microwavable and snack foods and drinks.
Other pluses are the indoor pool and whirlpool, and the fitness center with its cardiovascular equipment and multi-weight machines.
Another bonus to staying at this hotel instead of one downtown is that parking is free. Wi-Fi is also free. The Courtyard Cleveland Airport South also has a free shuttle to the airport.
Other guest room options are rooms with two queen beds and a king bed suite. Our room was less than $99 because we had the AAA rate.
