Located near Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, and close by to Camden Yards, home of the Baltimore Orioles, the Baltimore Marriott Inner Harbor at Camden Yards gets saddled with way too long of a name. But the 10 floor, 500+ room property has a prime location with easy access to the Convention Center, and many of the top visitor attractions in the city. If you’re taking in a big game (the Ravens play at nearby M&T Bank Stadium), enjoying the attractions in the Inner Harbor, attending an event at the Convention Center, or are looking for a centrally located hotel, this is a great choice.
The very ordinary exterior gives way to a large Greatroom lobby decorated with lots of marble and dark furniture. Just like a great room in a home, everything on the main floor of the hotel flows from here. The registration desk is on one side, a restaurant on another, a bar on another. Despite staying there at times when the hotel was booked full for a local convention, the great room approach evens out traffic flow in the lobby and makes it feel less crowded than it is. The front desk staff is well trained to handle a high volume of guests, and I’ve been checked in efficiently without feeling like they were glad to get rid of me and onto the next guest.
Once you get past the main floor, however, the hotel is a bit of a hit or miss. The rooms are nice (that dreaded word), with featherbed mattresses, flat screen televisions, in-room coffee service, complimentary bottled water, and the usual upscale amenities. The workspace is sufficient to spread out to tackle a project and plug-ins are plentiful and well located, and the wi-fi connection has always been strong.Upgrading to the Concierge level will get additional benefits, most notably a complimentary Continental breakfast. I’ve always had a great sleep here. While the rooms and common areas are spotlessly clean and well maintained, they still seem a little tired with outdated decor and furnishings. They try hard but are much in need of an update and refresh.
Other facilities include a ballroom and meeting space, a rental car desk, and a fitness center with 24-hour access for guests. Although if you’ve read many of my reviews, you’ll know that I’m more interested in the food and beverage offerings than the fitness ones.

Restaurants include The Yard, offering American cuisine featuring seasonal ingredients, and open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Stop by for your morning coffee, they serve Illy, or plan to meet up here with friends for a drink. I’ve not settled in for a proper meal, but my to-go orders have always been delicious.
On my last visit, I tried the pop-up Bricknfire Pizza. The menu includes salads and sandwiches, but they boast about their artisan Neapolitan-style pies. Taking them up on the boast, I ordered a Neopolitan pizza. This should have been a no-brainer selection, a classic choice that is a staple of pizza joints, but it arrived bland and tasteless and was a real disappointment. With so many options in the neighborhood, I’d recommend going off property for a better dining experience.
The Baltimore Marriott Inner Harbor at Camden Yards is located at 110 South Eutaw Street, Baltimore. Room rates start at about $145, on-site parking is $29 daily. The hotel does not offer shuttle service to nearby Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI); a cab will run you about $30. The nearest subway station is Charles Center, about four blocks away, and Baltimore’s Penn Station is about two miles away.
