With so many Napa Valley hotels to choose from, deciding where to call home can be an overwhelming task. Set on a more than 20-acre estate in the heart of Yountville, Vintage House (formerly Vintage Inn) offers a luxurious escape, steps from some of wine country’s most talked about restaurants.
Sleek and sophisticated, the lobby at Vintage House, referred to as the Main House, boasts an eye-catching glass elevator. With white walls, a white brick fireplace, plenty of natural light, and cushy furniture, it’s the kind of place you want to sit and stay awhile.
Contemporary, but comfortable, the same luxe vibe can be found throughout the property’s 80 accommodations, ranging from spacious Deluxe guest rooms to suites, and a handful of villas. All Deluxe rooms are similar in style in design, with bright white walls and bedding that contrast dark wood floors and handmade area rugs.

Touches of color, primarily hues of grey and lavender, come from furnishings. All Deluxe rooms have a balcony or patio, wood-burning fireplace, sitting area, and television. Power outlets and USB ports incorporated into bedside lighting makes plugging in electronics easy.
Mostly white bathrooms have double vanities with shiny nickel fixtures, a rainfall shower and oversize sunken tub combination, or a generous two-person, walk-in shower with dual rainfall shower heads.
Rooms are spread throughout small two-story buildings. Upper level rooms are odd numbered, and lower level rooms are even numbered (villas excepted). At times, I could hear my neighbors above moving about, so guests sensitive to noise may want to consider an upper level room. That said, if stairs are an issue or concern, be sure to request a room on the lower level.
The outdoor heated lap pool and hot tub are nice spots to splash around, in between wine tastings, or to wind down at the end of the day.
Vintage House and nearby sister resort the Villagio Inn & Spa, share a more than 20-acre stretch known as The Estate Yountville. Their proximity to one another allows them to share amenities and resources, like the complimentary Continental breakfast buffet. In addition to a fitness center, guests have access to two tennis courts, and a full-service spa with a dozen treatment rooms. The Estate also boasts V Marketplace, a 130-year-old former winery (listed on the National Registry of Historic Places) that’s now home to a variety of restaurants and shops.
If what you’re eating is just as important to you as what you’re drinking when in wine country, renown eateries like The French Laundry, Bouchon, and Bistro Jeanty, are within walking distance.
Deluxe rooms range from $375 to $995 depending on season and availability. A complimentary bottle of wine is in every room. Wi-Fi, parking and breakfast is included in the nightly rate. You can reserve your hotel room through the hotel’s website, 0r Expedia.
