Rest & Relax at Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach

Beach view Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach

Not far from its gleaming skyscrapers, Dubai’s coast is home to beautiful beaches. They’re the type of sandy stretches where you want to hide out for a day or two. That is unless you’re staying at the Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach. In that case, splurge and cash in those extra vacation days to stay longer. You won’t regret it.

The Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach features 237 rooms, including 49 suites, spread across 14 beachside acres. Glamorous, but not showy, the resort blends subtle Arabic designs, with countless fresh flowers, and depending on which way you look, views of the Dubai skyline or the sea.

Deluxe City View Rooms are located on the first to third floors of the property. Spacious, they feel even bigger thanks to high ceilings. Ample amounts of natural light streams from the outdoor patio or balcony, but drapes that close with the touch of a button, seal the room from the outside when it’s time to sleep.

In addition to a king bed, my room featured a comfortable sitting area with sofa, and a table large enough to eat, work, or spread out travel gear or new purchases. There is a small refrigerator, however it’s chock full of mini-bar items, making it all but impossible to use. Tea drinkers will be happy to find an electric kettle next to the Nespresso machine. The walk-in closet offers a generous amount of space for two.

Without doubt, the room showstopper is the free-standing white oval bathtub, set in front of a mosaic-tiled wall. It perfectly positioned so soakers can watch the television in the vanity mirror. Along with two sinks, the oversize bathroom has a walk-in shower with a rainfall showerhead and handheld attachment. A door separating the toilet from the rest of the bathroom allows two people to use room at the same time, while still providing some privacy.

Though it’d be easy to sleep in and linger longer, the resort offers a number of perks worth getting out and about. (The iPad Mini that resides on one of the two bedside tables, lists the resort’s services and amenities.) The beach is lined with chairs, umbrellas and an assortment of toys including kayaks and paddleboards that are available to rent. In addition to the pair of ocean side pools, there’s an indoor pool steps away from the spa. The 24-hour fitness center is loaded with equipment, and a number of classes are offered for an additional charge. There are also two hard surface tennis courts.

The resort is home to a restaurant or lounge for just about any mood. The buffet breakfast at Suc is worth indulging at least once during your stay. Along with the likes of dim sum, crepes, eggs, Arabic and Indian cuisine, there’s assorted pastries, cheeses, fresh fruit, smoothies and even ice cream. (The buffet is roughly $49 per person.) Depending on where you sit at the rooftop bar Mercury Lounge, you can take in the city skyline or the coast.
