Luxury & Live Music at Cambria Nashville

Nashville is known as Music City and is party central for Bachelorette parties. It attracts more Bachelorette parties than Las Vegas, so it’s no wonder that it can often be difficult to find a well located and reasonably priced hotel. The recently opened Cambria Nashville, located steps away from the bars and music of Broadway, the Country Music Hall of Fame, and Bridgestone Arena, is a welcome addition to the downtown Nashville hotel scene.

Cambria Nashville combines important tech features like fast and free WiFi, RoomioTV for streaming, and plenty of charging outlets with boutique design and thoughtful amenities to create a luxurious hotel stay experience. It’s a great location for a business stay as well as a convenient spot to rest up before a night of honky-tonk, and the staff’s Southern hospitality made me feel like I was just as special as those recording artists on the walls.

While the entrance to the Cambria Nashville is on the ground floor, the lobby and check-in desk in on the 5th floor. The elevator allows you to bypass the lobby when returning to your room via a security key scan.

The first floor is home to NashHouse Southern Spoon and Saloon. It’s open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with a small outdoor seating area. It can get stifling hot and humid out there, so use caution if you’re not familiar with that southern. The menu is full of delicious choice – you can’t go wrong with Nashville hot chicken and a pickle. There’s nothing healthy about this fried up choice, but I crave it when I’ve been away for too long.

Stepping off the elevator into the 5th-floor lobby, you’re met with music paraphernalia which spans generations. Not surprisingly, it’s a theme carried out in all the common areas as well as the rooms.

Rooms are spacious with lots of fun touches, and depending on your room location, the skyline views can be pretty impressive. Gold record replicas cover the wall, the entertainment center has a refrigerator and coffee maker, and the pillow top bedding is comfy enough to enjoy that first-morning coffee while in bed. The television is a 55-inches, and while I generally don’t want to turn it on, I admit to a morning lie-about with coffee and television programming.

Plug-ins and charging options are plentiful and the workspace is sufficient. One beef, however, I hate sitting on a backless stool when I’m working. Sure, it’s hipster-looking and industrial chic, but when I have work to crank out, I much prefer a proper desk chair.

The bathroom is near spa-like with its shower and amenities. And if you just can’t get enough personal digital programming, the mirror has blue tooth connectivity so you can stream while getting ready to head out. The volume wasn’t sufficiently loud to be heard over the shower, so save this option for when you’re out.

You can grab a bite to eat – literally – at the Grab & Go Market on the 5th floor. It’s open 24/7 and has the usual quick snacks as well as necessities you may have forgotten at home.

For indoor entertainment, you’ll find live music at True Music Room. Located just beyond the pool bar, the intimate 150-seat venue serves up locally-brewed beer, craft cocktails, or just about anything you want. True Music features national as well as local acts, so who knows – you may be seeing the next big star during your visit. Live music Monday-Saturday, dark on Sunday.

For outdoor entertainment, enjoy a splash in the pool on the 5th floor and the skyline views of Nashville. Cool off with a cold beverage from the pool bar or opt for a dunk in the pool, both make it a relaxing option during a hectic stay.

I’ve stayed at Cambria Nashville a few times since it opened. It’s become my go-to for a visit to downtown Nashville. If you want to stay out of downtown, check out the Germantown Inn in Germantown or the Opryland Hotel near the Grand Ole Opry.

The Cambria Nashville is located at 118 8th Avenue South, Nashville, Tennessee. Room rates start around $200 per night. Valet parking is $39 per night. You can also make your reservation at Hotels.com, Expedia or other online booking sites.
