The quaint village of Rosh Pina, in the green hills of the Galilee Panhandle, has long been a favorite weekend getaway destination for Israelis. Yet until recently, the only options for visitors have been the B&B’s that cling to the mountainside along the road leading up to the reconstructed historic section of the pioneering agricultural village. That all changed in late 2019, with the opening of the Edmond Hotel, a contemporary boutique hotel located close to the lone entrance to the town.
The Edmond is not only the first hotel in this town of 3,000, it has a lot more to offer than just guest rooms and sleeping quarters. Its outdoor pool and jacuzzi are very inviting, there is a cozy spa that offers a variety of treatments, and a kosher restaurant serving meals to individuals and groups.
There is another characteristic that sets the Edmond apart not only from other lodging options in Rosh Pina but even from most other hotels in the country: this is a property designed basically for adults only. Children are welcome once they have reached the age of 14.
Indeed, the hotel lobby seems designed with adults in mind. Its most handsome attribute is the library, furnished with sofas and easy chairs arranged around a working fireplace. Reading material in many languages line the bookcases, while free high-speed Wi-Fi extends to this and all public areas, in addition to guest quarters throughout the property.
The hotel’s 66 guest units include four [junior ] suites, two of which contain indoor jacuzzis. All suites can sleep four people and are equipped with espresso machines, an amenity that is planned only for the future in regular rooms.
Regular rooms sleep two and have mini-refrigerators; electric kettles for making instant coffee and tea; large-screen smart TVs with international multilingual programming; safes for storage of valuables; and user-friendly climate control. Fifteen rooms have balconies, with ample space for a table and chairs.
The beds in all guest units boast extremely comfortable mattresses, while the closets contain plush, pampering robes — worthy counterparts to the large, thick towels in the rather compact bathrooms. The shower stalls, equipped with raindrop showerheads, occupy fully half of the bathrooms.

Adjacent to the spa in the property’s lower level is the hotel’s fitness room, which is open from the early morning to the evening. Free access for guests to the fitness room includes entry as well to the spa area’s wet and dry saunas.
The other wing of the hotel’s lower level is home to the Victoria Restaurant, which serves a generous complimentary buffet breakfast daily, with delicacies like artisanal breads, smoked fish, and imported cheeses. Even more lavish buffets — complete with carving stations and sweet tables laden with both Western pastries and Oriental desserts — are available at dinner time; indeed, many of the Edmond’s guests book their stays on a half-board basis. The property’s wine cellar, which hosts occasional tasting workshops, may also be repurposed for private parties.
