Holiday Inn Lima Airport in Peru is one of those super convenient hotels located incredibly close to the Lima Airport. With free 24-shuttle service, excellent Covid protocol, extremely comfortable bedding, and enhanced security, this is my “go-to-hotel” when I need to be close to the airport. Besides, it has the best included-full-breakfast in town.
For those of you who may be new to Lima, Peru, traffic can be fierce, with unexpected delays. Bottlenecks are everywhere. That is why it is always best to stay as close to the airport as possible for upcoming flights. It is just one extra way to ensure you will catch your flight on time.
After arriving at Jorge Chavez Lima International Airport, I picked up my luggage and then headed to the desk of Directo taxi. Here I let them know I am going to Holiday Inn and usually within 5-10 minutes, a complimentary van is ready to whisk me several blocks away across crowded and busy streets to the hotel. It lies just outside the airport.
The staff greets me with warm smiles every time I stay at the hotel…which has been considerable this year with my back-and-forth jaunts from the United States to spend time with my Peruvian fiancé.
With 179 spacious smoke-free rooms, amenities include pillow menus and slippers, free WiFi and flat-screen TVs with cable channels. Complimentary bottled water is included in the room. (Please, don’t drink or use the tap water to brush your teeth while in Peru). Though the hotel has an indoor pool and fitness center, I have yet to experience either because of Covid restrictions.
The hotel has an excellent restaurant that features many daily specials, often with a Peruvian twist. Save room for dessert as all selections are absolutely delicious.
A bar/lounge, snack bar/deli, and 24-hour business center are onsite. Room service is also available 24/7.
Rates vary by season. Currently, they range from $96 to $106 per night on Booking.com and Hotels.com and include an ample full breakfast. You can book the Holiday Inn Lima Airport directly at the hotel website as well.
This airport hotel is a favorite of many Americans and Europeans while traveling in Peru. Since many flights currently leave Lima for the United States at night, be sure to check with the reservation desk for a late afternoon checkout.
Hotel review and all photos by Albuquerque, New Mexico-based travel writer Karin Leperi. The writer paid full-price for her accommodations while recently at Holiday Inn Lima Airport for a total of 12 nights on three different visits. As always, all opinions are strictly her own.
Kind of expensive for a Holiday Inn IMO
