France’s Loire Valley is world famous for its abundant castles, fine food and great wine: one of the country’s most popular areas outside of Paris the region is easy to access- just an hour by train from Paris – and easy to get around, with an efficient public transport system, abundant tourist infrastructure and even a well designed network of bike paths- over 400 miles in total.

Chateau de Pray, a building whose history dates back to the 13 century, offers traditionally decorated rooms in the main castle, or a more modern atmosphere in the annex. In addition to a swimming pool that overlooks the Loire, the Chateau also has an intimate restaurant, where you can enjoy specialities from ‘Touraine’- the Loire Valley region- in a period setting. Breakfast can be enjoyed in the room or taken in the unique troglodyte dinging room.

With views over the Loire River and surrounding valley, Pray is not only a good base to explore the region; with Chateau de Chennonceau just a short drive away and the wine regions of Vouvray and Montlouis sur Loire just upriver, but is also just a few miles from Amboise; one of the regions most picturesque towns: with an impressive castle (who’s history dates back over 900 years), the fantastic Leonardo Da Vinci museum Clos Luce, as well as a number of excellent bistros, cafes and fine dining restaurants.
