Located in the adventure town of Springdale, Utah, Cliffrose Springdale, Curio Collection by Hilton is the luxury place to stay near Zion National Park. The Springdale boutique hotel is five minutes from the entrance to the park and close to downtown.
We like to stay in boutique hotels when we travel. A Curio Collection hotel, Cliffrose Lodge is not a cookie-cutter chain hotel. The 53 room, 4-star property, is situated on 5 acres, giving the hotel a park-like feel.
The hotel, perfectly situated as a home base for your Southern Utah vacation, takes advantage of Zion’s red rocks and eye-popping scenery. It’s the exact opposite of the Las Vegas strip hotel we stayed at the night prior. Personally, I much prefer nature to neon.
A wooden portico entrance juts out of the single story building like a long distance ski jump ramp. A single glass door leads guests into the intimate hotel lobby. The front desk is staffed by two friendly locals who are happy to share their knowledge of maximizing a holiday in Zion National Park. We are Hilton Honors members, so we also were welcomed with bottled water.
Each of the Cliffrose Springdale rooms was unique, with a mix of deluxe hotel rooms, 2 bedroom suites and 1 bedroom suites. Each room features king or queen beds, some with Zion National Park and riverside views. The Serta plush pillow top mattress rewards the outdoor adventurer after a long day of exploring Southern Utah.
All rooms include black out drapes, 55 inch HDTV and thermostat controlled central air conditioning and heat.
We stayed in a Riverside king room with a private balcony, 2 outside chairs and a side table. Ours was a winter vacation in Southern Utah, so we didn’t utilize the balcony. The shower/tub combination bathroom was tiny, but the other positives of the hotel outweighed this downside.

Staying at Cliffrose Springdale luxury hotel
This was our first time staying at Cliffrose Springdale, but we’ll be back. After a long day of hiking The Narrows in 37 degree water temperatures in Zion National Park, we were thrilled to soak in one of two outdoor hot tubs. Cotton robes, along with slippers and large bath towels, were tucked in the closet. No need to pack a robe for this trip.
While there is a year-round, heated swimming pool at the hotel, in the winter and fall, my vote is for the hot tub. Besides, you can’t beat these Southern Utah views.
We didn’t have an opportunity to try out Five Petals Spa. This is our excuse for a return visit to Springdale, Utah. Be advised, the property is not pet-friendly. Most national parks are not dog-friendly. We recommend leaving Fido at home and we are dog lovers.
On site Anthera restaurant offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. We enjoyed breakfast before our outings to Zion National Park. I loved the yogurt parfait with house made granola and seasonal fruit. The portion was large enough for breakfast and filled a to-go container for later.
Electric Vehicle and complimentary parking
If you travel to Southern Utah via electric vehicle, there are 4 EV charging stations on property. Self-parking is complimentary.
Rooms at Cliffrose Springdale start at $185/night, depending on the season. Rates climb dramatically during the height of tourist season. I highly recommend visiting Southern Utah in the winter for better prices and less crowds. You can make your reservations directly with the hotel or try Hotels.com or Booking.com for a better rate.
