The Viking Houseboat – A Floating Apartment in Paris, France

The VIking is moored in a quiet area of the Seine

Originally built in 1941 to transport various goods across Europe, the Viking, a 39 m long and 5 m wide barge, has now been fully transformed into over 200 square meters of luxury living space that is docked on the Seine at Ile de Puteaux, just outside Paris’s west limits.
Just ten minutes drive from the Champs Elysée, being outside Paris and just next to the immense city park Bois de Bologne, means visitors can enjoy the relative calm of the park and indulge in a range of activities before heading into the center of the City of Lights.
The Viking boasts three complete en-suite bedrooms with a modern kitchen, dining room, a comfortable living room with wood burning stove and three sun decks. A library of DVDs, books and magazines are also on hand for guest’s enjoyment.
With the entire boat being available for rent by day, or week, the only real problem will be deciding who takes which room:

The Loft
This 65m2 suite is decorated with various souvenirs from the captain’s many trips around the world and features traditional wooden floors and an elegant 15 m2 bathroom

The Captain’s Room
For a truly unique stay, this suite includes a room based around the wheelhouse, which gives 360 degree views over the Seine and surrounding area.  Downstairs, guests wills find a cozy wood-paneled room featuring a queen sized bed and private bathroom.

The Master Bedroom

The Cabine du Matelot
The smallest of the three suites, this room is decorated in warm colors and features its own bathroom and shower.

The Viking is available to rent from 500 Euros a day (3 day minimum) or 3,000Euros a week, with discounts available in the off-season.
