Best Western Tree House with Mt. Shasta Views

Located in Mt. Shasta, California, the Best Western Plus Tree House offers Mt. Shasta views in the Shasta Trinity National Forest. It’s an ideally situated hotel if you are traveling from Northern California or Oregon.

While not a new hotel, the 3-star Best Western Tree House with Mt. Shasta views delivers both comfort and quality for the solo traveler, families or couples. Located one hour south of the Oregon border and one hour north of Redding, the Mt. Shasta hotel is easily accessible from the freeway, but surrounded by trees, thus the BW Tree House hotel name.

Open winter, spring, summer and fall, Best Western Plus Tree House will appeal to skiers, waterfall chasers, leaf peepers or road warriors. If you are looking for a safe place to rest and relax or traveling with pets, this is the hotel to book.

Family-friendly and pet-friendly hotel rooms

The 3-story property offers 98 rooms with a mix of single king bedrooms, double queen rooms and various suites. I booked a king bed courtyard patio room, #102. This hotel room included a desk and chair, minifridge, wet bar, microwave oven and coffee maker. All rooms include these features, in addition to DirecTV with HBO and high-speed Internet.

The bathroom offered a shower/tub combination with Pharmocopia bath amenities. While the shower had mounted shamp0oo and conditioner eco-friendly dispensers, they still had mini plastic body lotions. Let’s get all hotels to eliminate these single use plastic bottles.

If you want comfort on the ground level, reserve a courtyard room. It’s easy to get to and features your own little patio. There’s even a grassy courtyard and water feature. This is also easy access to the dog walk for your furry friends. I love Best Western pet-friendly hotels

The best views are the Balcony Mountain View rooms. Try and request a room on the 3rd floor, if available. If you need one bed, the most popular are the King Mountain View rooms #127 and #129. These area comfortable corner rooms with a great view.

Dining and drinking at BW Tree House

There are several good places to eat and drink in Mt. Shasta city. The Tree House Restaurant and Cooper’s Bar & Grill are also a convenient option on site. Unlike many Best Western hotels, breakfast is not included with your room. Both a la carte dining and breakfast packages are available to hotel guests.

Breakfast item prices range from $5 to $15 at the Tree House Restaurant. On my visit, selections included 2 eggs cooked to order, choice of meat (ham, bacon or sausage) potatoes and toast. You could also build your own omelet or select buttermilk pancakes. Additionally, coffee, tea and juice were beverage options.

The dinner menu looked appealing. No room service is available. However, the restaurant may deliver to your room, depending on staff availability.

Hotel amenities include and indoor swimming pool, small fitness center and coin operated washers and dryers. There are several Tesla and Rivian  EV charging stations on site for electric vehicles. On-site parking is free of charge.

This Best Western Plus hotel is pet friendly. On my visit, the pet fee was $20 per pet, per night with a maximum of 2 dogs per room.

If you are in town and not sure what to do or where to go in Mt Shasta, California, ask someone at the front desk. The staff includes a mix of outdoor enthusiasts and natives that know quite a bit about various things to see and do around Siskiyou County.

Review and photos by Oregon Travel Writer Nancy D. Brown who used her Best Western Reward points for this hotel stay. As always, all opinions are her own.
