On a Saturday night in December 2023, the Hotel Vin was hopping. Every seat in the inviting living room/lobby was filled. A duo on guitar and drum played to the lively crowd. The hotel’s wine-themed restaurant, Bacchus Kitchen & Bar was full.
The Hotel Vin’s name and branding give a nod to the town’s history. Mission grapes were found in the area, and there used to be vineyards in town. Now you’ll find tasting rooms and an annual wine festival that draws from across the state and around the world.
If you’re a traveler who likes an urban hotel experience with unique experiences at your doorstep, the Hotel Vin in Grapevine, Texas could be your new DFW favorite stay.
Business travelers and event planners like the location too. The Hotel Vin offers a variety of hi-tech meeting rooms and event spaces in 20,000 square feet. There’s even a Wine Room with Riedel stemware for those meetings where you want to bring your A-game.
Located next to the TRE, Tex Rail Express Main St. Station in Grapevine, you can take the train from DFW International Airport to the hotel, only six minutes away.
The TRE will also take you to downtown Dallas, or the Ft Worth. You truly do not need a car and that is saying something in the DFW area, a sprawling metropolis that is known for traffic.
Note that the city of Grapevine also hosts a complimentary shuttle that will take you to terminal D at DFW airport by request. The shuttle runs for limited hours Tuesday through Sunday.
Dining options
Bacchus Kitchen & Bar
Bacchus Kitchen and Bar at the Hotel Vin is Grapevine’s number one upscale dining venue. The restaurant is open all day serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, a bar menu, and weekend brunch overlooking the vintage train station.
We had the roasted beet salad and blistered shishito peppers with the scallops as a main. The waiter suggested a clean and crisp chablis as a compliment to the fish.
The floor plan at Bacchus is an open concept, but there are some cozy corners for a more intimate experience. The wine list is extensive, as you might expect from a restaurant named after the Roman god of wine. If you’re new to wine or just want to learn more you can book a private dining room for the occasion.
If you prefer al fresco dining while staying at Hotel Vin, and if Texas weather permits, there is al fresco dining at the Wine Yard Bar and Grille with live music on the weekends.
Harvest Hall
Harvest Hall is a casual food hall connected to the Hotel Vin and next to the train station. There are a wide variety of local chef concepts here as well as a nightclub called Third Rail. Elevator access to the clock tower for a panoramic view of Grapevine is also from Harvest Hall.
Dining on Main St.
If you want to venture outside the hotel dining options Main St. offers a good selection from Farina’s Italian (try the spaghetti pizza), to local favorite Esperanza’s Mexican (try the margaritas and the table side guacamole). Esperanza has one of the best outdoor patios in the DFW area. Go early. For coffee and pastries, you have to go to Main St. Bistro and Bakery.
All of the shops and restaurants on Main St. are small businesses housed in perfectly restored historic buildings. It’s truly a charming experience.

Hotel Vin has 120 spacious rooms in warm colors and dark wood accents. My king suite had a chaise lounge in a lovely pumpkin color, perfect for curling up with a book by the window. I like a room with some color and whimsy.
