After a long flight from the West Coast of the United States, I couldn’t help but smile when I walked into the lobby at the Hilton Buenos Aires. Set in a light filled atrium, the first impression of the contemporary property is stellar. After check in, shimmery glass elevators whisk guests to their rooms, encouraging everyone to take a moment to enjoy the view.
Hilton Buenos Aires is located in the trendy Puerto Madero district. Once a bustling shipping port, the neighborhood underwent a massive transformation in the late 1990s and early 2000s, and is now considered one of the most exclusive neighborhoods in the city.
Hilton Buenos Aires features 417 rooms and suites. I stayed on the 4th floor in a 1 King 1 Bedroom Executive Floor Suite with a city view. Fresh off of a renovation, it offered everything I needed and more.
The living room boasted a large couch and sleeper sofa, television, dining table with seating for six, small refrigerator, and coffee and tea supplies. When I woke up considerably earlier than my husband (Thank you, jet lag.) it was nice to have a space where I could be comfortable and get some work done. A bonus half-bath off of the living room made it even easier to move about freely without fear of waking my husband.

The bedroom offered all the perks you’d expect from the Hilton brand. You have a generous desk, a comfortable king bed, second television, and an oversize chaise lounger. Similar to the hotel’s public spaces, furnishings are contemporary and the floors are wood.
Spa-like Bathroom
The bathroom doesn’t scrimp on space either. You’ll have plenty of room to spread out thanks to a spacious vanity with a pair of sinks, a soaking tub, and a two-person walk in shower with a total of four shower heads. Extra kudos, as the spa-like shower was easy to operate.
A toilet and bidet were located in a corner behind a door, making it easy for two people to share the space and still have some privacy.
Even if I brought all of the clothes I own, I don’t think I could have filled the walk-in closet.
Handy Amenities
If you’re in town for pleasure, much of your free time will likely be spent out and about exploring Buenos Aires but on warm summer days, the rooftop hotel is an ideal spot to relax and recharge. There’s also a fitness center loaded with assorted cardio machines and free weights.
Alberto’s Lobby Bar is a popular spot to sip a glass of Malbec or Argentina’s popular Fernet and coke cocktail. El Faro serves breakfast, a lunch buffet, and dinner. Croutons is your grab and go option offering a selections ranging from pastries and coffee, to sandwiches and bottles of wine.
The Neighborhood
Step outside the hotel and you’ll find a variety of restaurants, cafes, and bars. In about a five-minute walk you can reach the Puente de la Mujer, or Woman’s Bridge. The photo-worthy footbridge crosses the Rio de la Plata and can be used to venture out to spots including Plaza de Mayo, Casa Rosada (the pink house home to the office of Argentina’s president) and Palacio Barolo.
Ministro Pistarini International Airport, commonly known as Ezeiza Airport, is a 21-mile drive. If you aren’t comfortable learning to use Buenos Aires’ public transportation system, Uber is a cheap and efficient way to get around the city.
