Beautiful Riverwalk Views at the San Antonio Omni La Mansion

Omni La Mansion

I’d heard about the famed San Antonio Riverwalk before, but had never been. So, when I recently traveled their on business, I was thrilled to be staying at the beautiful and historic Omni La Mansion del Rio Hotel, located directly on the Riverwalk. The hotel features 338 guest rooms and suites – some with views and balconies right on the Riverwalk.

I arrived at the Omni La Mansion several hours before check-in, and my room wasn’t ready. The friendly front-desk clerk took my cell phone number to call me when the room was ready, and I left my bags with bell services before heading out to the Alamo – about a five minute walk away. My room ended up being ready right around check-in time, and my bags were brought up to my room for me.

Omni La Mansion

The Omni La Mansion del Rio offers 338 rooms in several different categories depending upon your budget. Solo travelers on a budget will appreciate the petite rooms which are interior-facing rooms with no view. If you are traveling with others, but still want to save money, deluxe rooms offer a courtyard view. However, if you can afford it, I’d highly recommend the Riverwalk-view rooms. Available with either one king bed or two double beds, the Riverwalk-view rooms all either offer a private or shared balcony.

My room had a private balcony with sweeping views of the Riverwalk. Surprisingly, the room was quiet, even at night. The rooms in this historic hotel are charming but still modern. I especially loved the brick walls which add a beautiful touch to the room. The elevator closest to my room was out of service the first night, but was quickly repaired.

In addition to the convenient location and gorgeous views, the Omni La Mansion del Rio offers an on-site restaurant, an outdoor courtyard pool, and conference facilities. Guests are able to use the fitness facilities at their sister hotel, the Mokara Hotel and Spa, located across the river. If you aren’t already a member, I’d highly recommend joining the free Omni Select Guest program. Guests receive complimentary WiFi, a morning beverage delivered to your room, and other benefits.

Rates at the Omni La Mansion del Rio range from about $150-$300 per night, depending on the type of room booked. Learn more on their website. You can also book online through Booking.com.

My stay at the Omni La Mansion Del Rio was complimentary.
