The Boston Harbor is one of the most historic bodies of water, as well as an iconic symbol of Boston. Boston is home to a wide range of hotels – from budget to luxury spots, but some of the most popular hotels are those right on the Boston Harbor Waterfront. Here are my five favorite hotels located on the waterfront – all five are great places to stay especially during the summer, and are also kid-friendly.
Marriott Long Wharf -You can’t beat the location of this hotel, which is located within walking distance of the New England Aquarium, Faneuil Hall, and the North End of Boston. It recently underwent a multi-million dollar renovation, which it definitely needed. There’s also an indoor pool, allergy-friendly rooms and a kids’ concierge.

Boston Harbor Hotel at Rowes Wharf – If you like the location of the Marriott Long Wharf, but are looking for something a little more upscale, the Boston Harbor Hotel is a great option. It’s also walking distance to the aquarium, Faneuil Hall, and the North End, but also offers high-end shopping, restaurants, and a spa. Because of their conference facilities on the lower levels, guests rooms start on the 8th floor, giving every room either a Boston skyline or Boston Harbor view.

Hyatt Harborside at Boston’s Logan Airport
Hyatt Harborside at Boston’s Logan International Airport – This airport-adjacent hotel offers great views of the Boston skyline and Boston Harbor. It can be difficult to get into the city from here (although a water taxi is available), so I’d recommend staying at the Hyatt Harborside only when you need to be close to the airport. The views of both the city skyline and the Harbor are fabulous though. Rooms are soundproofed too, so the noise from the airport isn’t an issue. Check prices at Hotels.com.
Fairmont Battery Wharf Boston Harbor – The Fairmont is the newest hotel on this list and is the only boutique hotel on the Boston Harbor Waterfront. It offers a spa, fitness center, and a choice location right adjacent to the North End of Boston and within walking distance of the TD Bank. The Fairmont Battery Wharf offers a private water taxi stand with year-round passenger water transportation service. Book online at Hotels.com
Boston’s Seaport Hotel is one of the few independent hotels in Boston. Located in the newly re-energized Seaport District of Boston, the Seaport is located near the Boston Convention Center, the Seaport World Trade Center, and the Institute of Contemporary Art. The hotel offers a monthly fine dining family-style event, where families can come together to enjoy a great meal while the kids are entertained.
