Carmel-by-the-Sea Celebrates 100th Anniversary with Hotel Deals

Carmel-by-the-Sea is celebrating its 100th anniversary but we are the ones who get the birthday presents! That’s right, the bohemian chic coastal village of Carmel will blow out the candles on its centennial birthday on October 29, 2016, with many inns, bed & breakfasts and hotels offering lodging discounts into December. Following on the heels of International B&B Month, the innkeepers of Carmel are putting frosting on the cake with offers like $100 nightly discounts that would make Clint Eastwood’s day.

Life is like a box of chocolates when you stay at Carmel Country Inn during midweek. If you reserve a king studio or suite for two consecutive midweek nights you’ll receive a box of chocolates and split of champagne. Located on Dolores Street at Third Avenue, Carmel Country Inn bills itself as Carmel’s most pet-friendly bed and breakfast. I have yet to stay here, but I do know that Carmel-by-the-Sea is one of the most dog-friendly destinations that I have ever visited.

Speaking of pet-friendly, I took my Labrador Retriever (pictured above) to The Hideaway on Junipero and 8th and had a wonderful stay. Their centennial package includes two bottles of Cabernet Sauvignon wine and complimentary tasting for two at PlumpJack Winery for 2016 and 2017 and is available through December. The Hideaway is steps from Carmel’s white sand beaches and their complimentary European breakfast is excellent.

Horizon Inn & Ocean View Lodge on Junipero and 3rd, offers a centennial package with a bottle of Monterey County wine and a keepsake ornament from a Carmel shop. Valid through October 31, reservations must be for three or more midweek nights. No pets are allowed at Horizon Inn, but families are welcome and pets are accepted at The Lodge and Annex.

Guests who book a three night stay at either the Lamplighter Inn on Ocean & Camino Real or Forest Lodge on Ocean and Torres, receive a deluxe room in addition to a bottle of champagne for $600 plus tax. Mention “Carmel 100” for this offer that is valid through the end of the year.

Normandy Inn, located between Monte Verde and Casa Nova on Ocean Avenue, is celebrating with a “100th Birthday Package.” The property offers three nights for the price of two during a midweek stay in a queen or king bed and is valid until December 31, 2016.

At Tradewinds Carmel on Mission and 3rd, if you reserve a three-night midweek stay in a garden level or partial view room, you’ll receive a $100 nightly discount. You’ll want to book this soon, as the Centennial offer is only valid until November 1.

The champagne continues to flow at Best Western Carmel’s Town House Lodge on San Carlos and 5th. Receive 15 percent off your room rate, in addition to a free bottle of champagne when you reserve a three-night midweek stay at this hotel.
