Inn at Mavericks Guest Room

While they have spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean, it seems that every other beach hotel in California is also right next to Highway 1. When you go on a romantic beach retreat, don’t you also want some peace and quiet?

At Half Moon Bay’s Inn at Mavericks in Pillar Point Harbor, some quiet time on the beach is exactly what you get. Highway 1 may be close enough to get there easily, however once you arrive at the inn, it seems worlds away. Walk to any of a handful of restaurants for dinner and return to your comfortable room to watch the sun set on the harbor—with no traffic noise.

All six guestrooms are named after local surfing spots. They have 500 square feet of living space, a memory-foam bed, free Wi-Fi, flat-screen HDTV with DVD, iPod docking station, fireplace, refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. The three rooms on the ground floor are also pet-friendly, and small fenced patios are connected to each room for dogs to get a little safe outdoor time. The three rooms on the second floor have balconies.
