Convenience and Location at the Hilton Mystic Hotel

Hilton Mystic Exterior

When I travel with my kids, convenience and location are two major factors in deciding where to stay. On our recent post-Christmas visit to Mystic, Connecticut, I looked at a variety of chain hotels before choosing the Hilton Mystic. The location, right across the street from the Mystic Aquarium and Olde Mystic Village, was perfect for our getaway. After staying for two nights, I’d definitely recommend it for a Mystic family vacation.

I booked the Hilton Mystic directly online through the hotel. A day before my arrival, I received an email giving me the opportunity to not only check in early but also select our specific hotel room. I prefer a quick, tucked away room, so I chose one on an upper floor away from the elevators. When I arrived well before check-in time, the front desk manager told me that the room wasn’t ready, but if I was willing to take a different room, I could get in the room right away. I chose the second option and was happy with the room.

Room at the Hilton Mystic

Rooms at the Hilton Mystic are pretty standard hotel rooms offering complimentary WiFi, a large desk, in-room coffee makers, and Peter Thomas Roth bath amenities. Like other Hiltons I’ve stayed in, the bed and linens were very comfortable. The hotel offers two on-site restaurants as well as in-room dining. We dined outside the hotel for all of our meals, but the restaurants appeared to be pretty busy during our stay, especially during breakfast.

Indoor Pool at the Hilton Mystic

The Hilton Mystic offers a Precor workout room, a small arcade, a business center, and a heated indoor pool. My son and I decided to use the pool on our last night, and found the temperature to be perfect. The hotel does offer pool towels but there are no lifeguards or attendants on duty. In the evening, the pool area was a bit messy, with dirty towels tossed around. Food service is available at the pool by using one of the nearby phones to call for service.

Location is definitely a big draw for this resort. It’s directly across the street from both Mystic Aquarium and Olde Mystic Village, and is adjacent to a Starbucks and several restaurants. Downtown Mystic and Mystic Seaport are just a short drive away, and the Connecticut casinos are about 20 minutes away. In addition, the resort offers a complimentary shuttle to various locations.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at the Hilton Mystic, and I’ll definitely return the next time I visit Mystic. To learn more, visit the Hilton Mystic’s website. You can also compare rates and book online through Booking.com or Hotels.com.
