Flying into Miami Airport for a cruise vacation, the hotel decision is typically about location, location, location. The Miami Airport Marriott hotel fits the bill for location and convenience. A short distance from the international airport, Miami Airport Marriott offers a complimentary shuttle to whisk guests to the comfort of their hotel rooms. If you wander outside the hotel grounds, you’ll hear airplanes whizzing overhead, but thankfully, you won’t hear the noise of the jet engines when you retreat to your hotel room.
The black shuttle van, emblazoned with the familiar capital M logo, is easy to spot at the airport curb. Flag down the van when you see it coming, they circle by every 15 minutes. After a short ride to the Marriott you’ll be dropped at the lobby entrance. If you arrive before 3 p.m. check in, ask the bell hop to store your luggage and take a dip in the pool or catch a different shuttle to the nearby Dolphin Mall.
I was meeting a friend at the Marriott the night prior to our cruise ship departure and had booked a double deluxe room in advance. I’m sure you know this, but if you are a Marriott Rewards member, the lowest rates can be locked in early. The hotel offers AAA discounts, as well. If a room with a view is important to you, ask for a city skyline room or a room looking out to Marlins Park baseball stadium.
Our room was located on the eighth floor of the 9-story hotel. The recently renovated deluxe double room with pillowtop bed, included a desk with chair, flat screen tv, free wireless internet and plenty of plug ins by the bed and desk. The bathroom featured a combination bath/shower with Thann amenities and included a hair dryer.
Guests have the option to upgrade to the M Club Lounge with access to extra amenities and a complimentary breakfast. Pre and post cruise packages are available, as well, including breakfast and transportation to the Port of Miami.

Dining options at Miami Airport Marriott
This Marriott is part of the “Marriott Connection,” three hotels under one brand, sharing a swimming pool, fitness center and restaurants. It’s a clever idea, offering hotel guests different price points and dining options, in one convenient location close to the airport.
My friend’s flight arrived late, so she was thankful for Mia’s Pantry, a grab and go store to the right of reception and the lobby. Mia’s Pantry offered salads, sandwiches, yogurt parfaits, snacks and Starbucks coffee items. There’s also a Starbucks within a 20 minute walk of the hotel if you prefer a change of scenery.
Cane Fire Grille is the hotel restaurant, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. We had the All American Buffet, including cooked-to-order eggs, juice, coffee or tea, for $22. Champions Sports Bar is located next door in the Courtyard Miami Airport hotel. Room service is available for an additional fee.
Depending on the season and local events, rates start at $94 in the 367 room hotel. Self parking and valet parking are available for an additional charge. The Miami Airport Marriott does not charge a resort fee. The hotel does not accept pets. Book your stay directly with the hotel or see if you can get a better rate on Booking.com.
