When it comes to exploring National Parks, the closer your hotel, the better. If Joshua Tree National Park is on your must-visit list, you won’t find closer digs in the desert than the Fairfield Inn & Suites Twentynine Palms-Joshua Tree National Park. Just a five-minute drive from the North entrance, the hotel serves as a good home base, offering an assortment of useful amenities.
Lobby furnishings are modern and colorful, but you won’t be there for long. Check-in is efficient and staff are friendly. The all-suite hotel offers 80 guestrooms spread across two floors. Rooms are for all intents and purposes, identical, however some have king beds, and some have two queen beds.
Suites are spacious by typical hotel standards. In addition to the bed, or beds, there is a separate living area with a sleeper-sofa, chair, and a desk large enough to work, or spread out assorted travel gear. There is an easily accessible electric outlet atop the desk, but if you need to plug in within reach of your pillow, you’ll need to wiggle the bedside table a bit for access behind.
The bathroom has a bath/shower combination and one sink, but the vanity provides room for a family to co-exist peacefully, and lighting is bright. A nook just outside the bathroom is home to a small refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave.
The Fairfield Inn & Suites Twentynine Palms-Joshua Tree National Park has a small pool located on the backside of the property. Open from 6am to 11pm, there are plenty of bright yellow lounge chairs for folks seeking sun, and a good number of umbrellas for those seeking shade. There’s also a patio area with tables and chairs, and a couple barbeque grills. A small fitness center is located on the first floor.
A free buffet-style, hot breakfast with selections like oatmeal, make your-own-waffles, bagels, fruit, yogurt and cereal is included with every stay. It’s served 6am to 9:30am Monday through Friday, 7am to 10am Saturday, Sunday, and holidays.
