Downtown Cleveland, Ohio bustles when the weather warms. Sunsets over Lake Erie are magnificent. In late spring through summer, several eateries have outside tables for enjoying the season. A stay at the Hilton Cleveland Downtown puts people within a short distance to the action. Hotspots like the Rocket Mortgage Field House, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Playhouse Square, or Progressive Field to catch a Cleveland Guardians baseball game are convenient to this Hilton location.
Cleveland’s Tallest Hotel Offers Plenty of Meet Up Spots
Opened 2016 as a newcomer to Cleveland’s hotel scene, The Hilton Cleveland Downtown is a 600 room, 32 story skyscraper of modern sleekness. The reception area, lobby and multiple seating areas are open and airy, Throughout, stunning views of Cleveland and Lake Erie are showcases. The hotel’s openness is perfect for guests traveling with a crowd. Locating people is easy, and there’s plenty of room to gather. Other seating is tucked away from the fray. These offer more intimate spaces for quiet conversations.
A Showcase of History and Culture
From the reception area to the guest rooms, there is a sophisticated artsy vibe. Throughout, Cleveland’s past and present are celebrated in artwork and signage. Historical markers around the hotel’s outside mark the significance of the downtown location. One marker touts Cleveland’s distinction as the place of the first Christmas tree with electric lights.

Inside, paintings, prints and photographs showcase Cleveland’s architecture and sports love. Even the exercise room has a floor to ceiling photograph of one of Cleveland’s famous bridges. The exercise room is just one example of the hotel’s well thought out design. Treadmills, ellipticals, bikes and weights are arranged for maximum use by several guests without feeling boxed in and overcrowded. The result is wide-ranging usefulness mixed with aesthetically pleasing.
Hotel Dining Offerings and More
The business center of several workspaces has the same design thoughtfulness. So do the places to dine and grab a drink. Eliot’s Bar named for Eliot Ness and Bar 32 are spacious spots for enjoying friends and family. Bar 32 on the 32nd floor is where to go for the sweeping, panoramic views. There’s also Burnham Restaurant that has a breakfast buffet.
And the indoor pool, like everywhere else at this Hilton, has magnificent views.
Because we were on the go for most of our Cleveland stay, we didn’t take in the exercise room, pool or restaurants, but we did head to Noshery. Noshery is a grab and go place off the lobby. There is a bounty of breakfast sandwiches, salads, snacks, and more as self-serve options. You can even pick up a toothbrush and other toiletries you may have left at home. For a caffeine fix, pick up a Starbucks coffee.
Our Room
Our two-queen bed guest room was grounded in Cleveland as the rest of the hotel. For example, a photograph of one of the Guardians of Traffic of the Hope Memorial Bridge was above the headboard. These are the iconic symbols of Cleveland’s now named Guardians baseball team, a perfect interior design. Other rooms have other Cleveland themed photos.
The room’s palate of cream, beige and darker browns create a restful palate of good taste. The 55-inch TV, coffee maker, iron, ironing board and plenty of outlets are what one needs for getaway. And the beds could not have been more comfortable thanks to the down comforters and Super Topper mattress pads. A desk, desk chair, dresser and armchair rounded out the sleek modern furniture look.
About the view. We could see the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and First Energy Stadium where the Cleveland Browns play with Lake Erie as a backdrop from our window.

In addition to two queen beds, room options include one king bed to several suites, some with special amenities like a yoga mat and other paraphernalia or cardio equipment in an elliptical machine.
Our room was a wedding group rate. There are special rates from military to AAA discounts on the website. You can also book a breakfast included package. Regular rates are from $215 to $416. Check out Booking.com or Hotels.com for a cheaper rate, but the Hilton’s discount options may be better.
