I was exploring Orange County on a weekend getaway and was quite impressed with the art and cultural scene. Insider tip.. there’s more to the OC than Disneyland and beaches. I wasn’t traveling with my husband or kids, but if I was, I would have felt comfortable traveling with our dog. The Westin South Coast Plaza is pet-friendly and doesn’t charge for pets. The hotel also offers a Westin Kids program for those traveling with little ones. The lobby lounge offers breakfast, lunch and dinner, (often with kids eat free packages) as well as a Starbucks Grab n Go option and a full service bar. The hotel offers self and valet parking.

As a Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) the 15th & 16th floors offer better views for the gold and platinum level members. There’s also free internet available to SPG members; otherwise you’ll be paying a daily fee for WiFi. Wireless internet access is available in public areas if you purchase the in-room package. I enjoyed my deluxe king bed that I had all to myself; sometimes solo travel has its rewards! I also have all of my holiday shopping covered. In summary, whether you are traveling during the holidays, or any time of year, you’ll find plenty of family-friendly activities on tap in Costa Mesa.
