Hotel Illa d’Or – Puerto Pollença, Mallorca

view from Hotel Illa d’Or

It is unusual when you are traveling with a group of travel writers on a press trip to get to your room, open the curtains, and suddenly feel the need to send a picture of the view from your room to your traveling companions, but that is exactly what happened on my recent visit to Hotel Illa d’Or in Puerto Pollença on the island of Mallorca in Spain. We arrived just after sunset as the sky over the harbor at Puerto Pollença still glowed, and the small boats bobbed at their anchorages. It was stunning.

Location

Hotel Illa D’Or is on the serene northern coast of Mallorca, in Puerto Pollença. It boasts wonderful views of the Mediterranean Sea and is just a short stroll from the main restaurants and shops in town along the picturesque Pine Walk promenade.

Cap de Formentor

The hotel is conveniently located for guests looking to explore the local beaches, visit the historic town of Pollença, or embark on a scenic drive to Cap de Formentor. If you do explore this beautiful peninsula—and you should—get an early start if you have your own car, as the road will close when the parking lots fill up.

Public transportation is easily accessible, and the hotel offers bike rentals for exploring the area on two wheels.
