There are a plethora of hotels to choose from in downtown Denver. If you are flying in from the Denver International Airport and don’t want to rent a car, Hotel Indigo Denver Downtown is a good option. Not only is this hotel downtown by Union Station, hotel guests may take public transportation from the airport to the hotel. Denver, Colorado locals call this the “Train to Plane” choice. Those looking to avoid traffic jams during road construction will call this option the smart choice.
My husband and I flew into Denver for the new “Rockies to Red Rocks” train trip on Rocky Mountaineer. We elected to stay at Hotel Indigo Denver because of its convenient location to Union Station. This downtown Denver hotel made coming and going from Denver a breeze. It is also located in a fun neighborhood, making museum and sporting events a walk in the park. In fact, the Museum of Contemporary Arts is within walking distance.
We met our adult children for dinner at a pet-friendly restaurant nearby. Denver locals enjoy their art scene, breweries and baseball games. If you have a chance to take in a game at the nearby Coors Field or join a public art walking tour you’ll be in for a unique experience.
If you are looking for Instagram-worthy stops, make some stories at the 1914 Union Station Beaux-Arts building. This beauty in the LoDo district is worth a look! This is the location where you’ll catch the RDT train to the Denver Airport and is a few short blocks from Hotel Indigo Denver.
The glass exterior of Hotel Indigo Denver is a reflection of the interior; a sleek, hip hotel. We liked the clean lines in our hotel room on the 7th floor. Our king room had a good mattress, area rug under the bed and sliding barn door to the bathroom. The bathroom included a shower (no tub) and EST brand shampoo and conditioner.
If you enjoy white cotton terry cloth bathrobes, you might want to splurge for the Denverite hotel package. In addition to CBD-infused products, you’ll be able to take home the Boca Terry robe that’s included in the package – for an additional fee.
The lobby lounge was going through a transition during our stay. Plans for on-site dining include Three Saints Revival restaurant (breakfast daily) and the addition of a cocktail and wine program in the evening.
