I stepped into my room at Grand Hotel de la Ville, and I must say, it felt anything but “basic.” The warm, neutral tones and understated elegance gave the room a sense of calm and refinement. Soft lighting and sleek furnishings created a cozy yet sophisticated vibe. While not overly large, the room was thoughtfully laid out to maximize comfort and convenience, making it an ideal retreat after a day of exploring Parma’s culinary and cultural delights.

The queen-sized bed was dressed in crisp, high-quality linens and topped with a plush duvet that practically invited me to sink in for a long nap. A small but stylish writing desk was perfectly positioned near the window, offering a natural light source for catching up on emails or jotting down notes about my day’s foodie finds. Though the view wasn’t sweeping, it was charming, looking out over the Barilla Center courtyard, with just enough greenery to bring a touch of the outdoors inside.

The bathroom continued the theme of understated luxury, with marble finishes and all the essentials. It featured a spacious walk-in shower with excellent water pressure and a range of upscale toiletries that added a little pampering to my daily routine. Thick, fluffy towels and a heated towel rack were nice touches, making my stay feel a bit more luxurious. Though not the largest room at the hotel, it was perfect for a solo traveler or a couple seeking a comfortable, well-appointed base to enjoy Parma.

The hotel’s list of perks extends well beyond the basics. Complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi is available throughout the property. Guests can stay connected whether they’re lounging in the lobby or relaxing in their suite.
