K+K Hotel Central – Art Nouveau in Prague’s Old Town

Located smack-dab in Prague’s charming Old Town, just a short walk from the “Powder Tower” and the “Old Town Square,” K+K Hotel Central is ideally situated for exploring the sights and sounds of this vibrant city. Whether touring, dining or shopping, it is all within easy walking distance of the hotel, which is housed in one of the oldest Art Deco buildings in the city.

Attractions like Old Town Hall and Old Town Square, Charles Bridge, Wenceslas Square, Republic Square and the Jewish Quarter are but a short walk away. For shopping, be sure to check out the fashionable area of Pariska Street and Palladium Shopping Mall. For great coffee and a snack, you don’t want to miss the Grand Café Orient, a cubist architectural delight.

The K+K Hotel Central offers 127 guestrooms, many of them with unique space. The interior architecture is art nouveau, best showcased by the elegant golden lift (elevator) just off the main lobby.

The hotel has a modern Bar & Bistro, with munchies and even evening meals that feature local cuisine. Expect Czech beers and wines of all origins. Though the hotel is noted for superior service, our group found the bar service slow and less than attentive during our stay.

The rooms tend to be European-sized, which translates as being on the small side. That was the case with my room #218. It even lacked a view. Some rooms are larger than others, so ask what’s available.

Beds are comfortable and come with top-quality mattresses and white down duvets. All have air conditioning and high-speed Wi-Fi for your digital devices. The hotel has a gym and sauna and provides massages for a fee.

The full breakfast buffet is ample, featuring a variety of local delicacies, baked goods, and fresh fruits. The fee at time of check-in was about $10 USD equivalent to sign up for breakfast. It’s a good deal.

Easy to get to, the K+K Hotel Central is a three-minute walk to/from the nearest metro station that connects the Old Town to the New Town. For rail and bus, it’s but a 15-minute walk. If arriving at Prague International Airport, it’s a 30-minute drive. With prior arrangements, the hotel offers a limo service for 29 Euro each way.

K+K Hotel Central is part of an international collection of luxury European hotels that mix original features with modern style and facilities. They are known for providing central location, connectivity, and comfort. Sister hotels are located in London, Paris, Budapest, Barcelona, Munich, Vienna and Bucharest.
