La Concha Renaissance San Juan Resort, also known as La Concha Resort, is a historic luxury resort located in prime territory in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Location, Location, Location
This Puerto Rico resort, part of the Marriott Bonvoy collection, offers the best in location and convenience. The Condado oceanfront is within a couple minutes walking distance, while historic San Juan is virtually outside the entrance doors. Additionally, it’s easy to explore the culinary scene by walking since over a dozen restaurants are only steps or blocks away from the resort.
After a long flight, the hotel is also easy to get to by taxi, as it is only about 5 miles northwest of Luis Munoz Marin International Airport.
The Resort
La Concha Resort offers 483 rooms, many of which offer an incredible view of the Atlantic Ocean. My husband and I both enjoyed our panoramic view of the waterfront during our 3-night stay. We especially enjoyed watching sunrises and sunsets from the convenience of our room. It was an incredible immersion in the aesthetics, smell, and sounds of the ocean
The Amenities
Amenities are many and include three pools, a terrace poolside restaurant, bar, and hot tub. There is also a private beach area spa, wellness centre, fitness centre, along with access to a private beach. And for entertainment, there is a casino is onsite.
Add to this list of amenities complimentary Wifi, room service, and daily housekeeping. Means you really never have to leave the resort.
Relaxing and Soothing Water Everywhere
But let me get back to the pools as this is really one of the main, enticing features of the resort.
The Main Pool features two whirlpools and sits by the lobby. Picturesque in a true tropical island way, the pool is an open-air multilevel infinity-edged oasis. Two whirlpools are located on The Main Pool’s upper deck, giving a birds-eye view of the resort while overlooking the lobby. Connecting waterfalls complete the scene.
The signature Sereno Pool overlooks the Atlantic Ocean. Both pools are advertised as family-friendly.
However, the third pool, the Ocean Terrace Pool, is a private infinity edge reserved for adults only who are staying in the Suite Tower.
Wellness and Fitness
The focus of La Concha Renaissance is not just relaxation and rest. It’s really all about wellness. This is an integrated approach that recognizes the need for total body reset. From fitness and yoga classes to water-based exercises that improve joint movement and muscle flexibility, there are many different ways to reduce stress and find your inner calmness and body conditioning reset point.
The warm waters of Jacuzzis set amongst nature allow for muscle and joint tension release. Guided 20-minute classes will lead you through stretches, relaxation and surrender.
Emphasize cardio workout with state-of-the-art equipment that includes Spinning bikes resistance machines, and free weights. Choose one or cross-train with all. But be sure to join the morning class for your fitness program. Enquire at the front desk about times.
The Wellness Program includes beachfront workouts and outdoor mindfulness sessions to recharge.
If the lure of water is your potion, then you can avail yourself of numerous water sports equipment options that include snorkeling gear, kayaks and surfboards. These are fee-based water sports equipment rentals.
For landlubbers, free loaner bikes are available for those that want to venture out on the streets of Old San Juan. Soak in the architecture, culture, and even the culinary scene.

Our room was airy and spacious, but with a tropical beach ambiance. The bed was extremely comfortable with plenty of pillows for those of us who require more than one for a restful night of sleep. Amenities include 37-inch flat-screen TVs, walk-in showers and free Wi-Fi access.
The color palette of the room is natural and soothing, borrowing from the canvas of nature. Muted seafoam green, tan and beige blend harmoniously
