The historic Boston Harbor Hotel at Rowes Wharf offers both location and luxury, a perfect combination for your stay in Beantown, USA. A receipient of the Forbest Travel Guide Five Star Award, the 230-room luxury hotel is located in the heart of the Boston’s financial and business center on the oldest waterfront in the nation. As its name suggests, the Boston Harbor Hotel is built on a harbor with breathtaking views.
After nearly 20 years, I returned to Boston with my husband to visit our adult daughter, and we were looking for a unique Boston harbor experience. The Boston Harbor Hotel at Rowes wharf gave us that and more.
Arrival: The building is simply stunning, historical elegance at its best – dramatic archway, domed rotunda – an architectural treasure and one of the most photographed buildings in New England.
The doorman opened the door promptly, and we entered into the vaulted ceilings and spacious lobby to the right. Our mid-afternoon check-in was flawless and pleasant, and the front desk receptionist couldn’t have been more accommodating. Our room was ready an hour earlier than posted check-in time.
Accommodations:
Spacious and historic, the Boston Harbor Hotel’s rooms are simply beautiful starting at 500 square feet with 37” HD Plasma TVs, working desk and accessories, marble bathrooms and complimentary WiFi! Balconies overlook Boston Harbor, the city or both.
Ours was a Harbor Double Superior Room with a breathtaking view of the waterfront, and we couldn’t help but be drawn time and again to the oversized windows simply to watch the activity below.
On-site Amenities: 24 Hour Concierge, In Room Dining, Business Center, Fitness Center, Pool and Spa. Car rental center and ATM located in complex. Marine facilities: dock your yacht or rent a private boat. Water taxi service to and from Logan International Airport.
Dining: Although we choose to dine outside the hotel, on-site award-winning dining amenities include: Meritage, Rowes Wharf Sea Grille, and Rowes Wharf Bar.
Convenient Location: Centrally located along the Rose Kennedy Greenway and HarborWalk, it was convenient to talk to the miles of walkways along the shoreline. The Boston Harbor Hotel is also within walking distance to the North End neighborhood (25-30 minutes) and Faneuil Hall Marketplace (15 minutes). The hotel is a few blocks from the “T,” Greater Boston’s subway system, making access to other Boston neighborhoods convenient.
Summary: Although our stay was less than 24 hours, I can see why the Boston Harbor Hotel at Rowes Wharf has received numerous accolades. Its location and luxurious accommodations are perfectly complemented by a friendly staff.
