Downtown Reno is a world onto its own.
Capped off by a massive dome-shaped sphere at first glance you’d think this place in the heart of “The Biggest Little City” is another world.
But once inside this circular wonder catch rows of slot machines, floating glass fairies and the biggest repro silver mine shaft.
Welcome to the Silver Legacy Resort Casino, one of Reno’s gambling resorts. Part of “THE ROW,” which is a trio of resorts: The Eldorado Resort Casino, Circus Circus Reno and of course this one, expect six city blocks of gaming, entertainment, dining and shops.
A throwback to the mid-90s, the resort complex with its three properties is the biggest resort complex in Northern Nevada (4000 rooms total). The property with panoramic views of the Sierra Nevada mountains to the west and dazzling Reno city lights to the east has received a spanking new update to the once tired and drab spa. Find a revamped Fitness Center which offers state-of-the-art fitness equipment like StairMaster, free weights, weight machines and has some cool city views.
Silver Legacy Resort Highlights:
The highlight for this play and stay sleepover is certainly the spa known as The Spa at Silver Legacy. The others: the connected hotels and complimentary airport transfers.

Suite Pluses
Find 10+ room categories spread out in two towers, East and West. Mine was a typical room with the usual amenities: fridge, iron, ironing board, toiletry products and a complimentary coffee maker. Upon arrival two complimentary water bottles were stocked daily in the room. It’s spacious with free Wi-Fi.
Hotel Perks
Three venues in one area. Plus, the location – it’s in the heart of downtown which means the city’s other biggest attractions (entertainment, shopping and a downtown wine walk trail) are reachable via a 15 minute walk. The Reno Riverwalk District is nearby and so is Reno midtown known for its eclectic shops, vintage stores and indie boutiques. The Will Bruder-designed Nevada Museum of Art which is an homage to Northern Nevada’s Black Rock Desert and the distinctive geodesic dome roof of the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts looks ready to move you to new dimensions. Both venues are reachable via an easy stroll.
Dining
Ruth’s Chris Steak House will be bringing “sizzle” to this strip in early December. Otherwise choose from six award-winning restaurants. For breakfasts, head to the sister property, Eldorado, home of The Buffet resto for a breakfast buffet feast. This smorgasbord of food stations covers everything from Mexican enchiladas to French toast and for those with a hankering for sweets, find a dessert station reminiscent of Paris. Macarons, and patisserie galore!
Overall impression
When staying at the Silver Legacy Resort Casino you’ll certainly strike it rich with a visit to the tranquil new spa. For the folks who like to play and stay the new spa will add an extra plus.
