Sonoma Wine Country Suite Life at Hotel Trio

Green wall and lobby of Hotel Trio in Healdsburg

When it comes to choosing a hotel in Northern California wine country, visitors have a long list of options. Healdsburg’s Hotel Trio has cooked up an interesting way to stand out in the wine country crowd. All accommodations offer full kitchens.

Hotel Trio, a Residence Inn by Marriott, gets its name from the Alexander, Dry Creek and Russian River Valleys, the three wine producing regions that make up its Sonoma County backyard. The two-story hotel lobby, complete with a living green wall, makes a sleek first impression. Walls of oversized windows flood the open space with natural light. Once checked in, all guests receive a complimentary split of wine to take to their room.

Hotel Trio offers 122 suites spread across four floors. King Rooms have one king bed, Queen Rooms have two queens, and one-bedroom suites offer separate sleeping and living areas. My King Room had a modern feel with a predominantly gray and white color scheme. Throw pillows provided pops of color, and the kitchen’s stainless steel appliances, (including a full-size refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave and cooktop) gave the space extra shine. There was no dining room table, but the long counter provided bar seating for two. Groceries can be delivered to your door and billed directly to your suite. The setup is ideal for anyone visiting Healdsburg on an extended stay.

The living space featured a sofa bed and large desk with plenty of room to work, or to spread out electronics and travel gear. The large flat-screen television swiveled so it could be watched while sitting on the sofa, or relaxing in bed.

The bathroom had a single sink vanity with ample room for two, and a spacious walk-in shower.
