Stay Right In Midtown Manhattan at the Omni Berkshire Hotel

New York City is only about a three-and-a-half-hour train ride from my home west of Boston, and we visit somewhat frequently. While there are loads of hotels in Manhattan, I typically look for hotels that have decent-sized rooms – which can be very rare in Manhattan, where tiny hotel rooms are the norm. I also like to be located centrally, so that I can walk just about everywhere that I want to go, and it’s essential that my hotel is absolutely spotless. The Omni Berkshire Place in Midtown Manhattan has all of these.

Less flashy than its neighbors the New York Palace and the Waldorf Astoria, the 4-star Omni Berkshire Place is modern, elegant, and comfortable. It’s centrally located just a few blocks from such attractions as Times Square, Fifth Avenue, Radio City Music Hall, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, and Rockefeller Plaza. Because of that last one, the hotel often hosts celebrities who will be on a TV show filming there, so keep your eyes peeled.

If you need a cab, the hotel’s bellmen are more than happy to get one for you&mdashbut you can walk almost anywhere. The hotel’s website also offers an extensive list of attractions in the city with exact distances on the experiences tab.

The rooms and amenities at the Omni Berkshire Hotel NYC

The hotel’s rooms are decent-sized, with built-in closets, large bathrooms, flat-screen televisions, comfortable beds, and large work desks. Due to the location of the hotel, they do cater quite a bit to business guests, and the amenities reflect that. However, it’s still a very family-friendly hotel, and the brand offers kids amenities such as backpacks handed to each kid at check-in. Join the free Select Guest program for free coffee/tea delivery, as well as other perks.

I was most impressed with the cleanliness and decor of the Omni Berkshire Place. This recently renovated hotel is completely spotless, and the room decor is clean and elegant, making the rooms seem even more uncluttered. It’s a great place for families and individuals to stay, with suites, to premier and deluxe rooms, and ADA accommodations.

This hotel’s St. Patrick Terrace on the 17th floor has views of the cathedral of the same name, and Berk’s Bar, the dining location, is known for its oversized cocktails. This spot has a fitness center alongside the terrace, and even accommodates for pets with in-room services available, such as custom mats and bowls available to them upon arrival.

Expect to pay about $300-$600 per night most of the year, although packages and specials are often available. See the official website here
