Wyoming is known for wide-open spaces and cowboys riding into the sunset, a place to relax while still seeking adventure. The Lodge at Jackson Fork Ranch in the city of Bondurant, Wyoming, captures the essence of the Wild West down to every detail, in addition to luxury living.
The cozy Wyoming lodge is open year-round and provides the perfect place for excitement and luxury for families, singles, couples, girlfriend escapes or mountain man retreats. Specializing in fly-fishing, the Jackson Fork Ranch also features over 350 bison, Percheron horses, plenty of hiking trails, and handcrafted culinary cuisine.
If you come outside of summer though, bring ample layers for the outdoors. This Wyoming lodge is at 7,100 feet above sea level, so it can get quite cool once the sun goes behind the mountains.
The four-bedroom lodge, which may be completely rented out, features the luxuriously oversized Sublette Suite. Including meals, a stone fireplace, king bed, and private Jacuzzi tub, the Sublette Suite also features a gorgeous panoramic view of the Upper Hoback Valley and surrounding mountains. The chance to witness a sunrise from your private room just may entice you to immerse yourself into the beauty of the West.
Days at the Jackson Fork Ranch begin with a hearty meal complete with fresh fruit, Eggs Benedict, and house-made granola. Packing a gourmet picnic-style lunch is the way to go while experiencing adventures all over the ranch.
Hikes for the ambitious include trips to Kilgore Falls and the Upper Hoback River where you may spot a few fly fishermen or women. If trekking by foot is not for you, the larger than life Percheron horses provide carriage rides (or winter sleigh rides) through the Upper Hoback Valley. The ranch also offers custom-tailored horseback rides through the Bridger Teton National Forest.
As the sun sets on Jackson Fork Ranch, fishermen will be pleased to see fish land on their dinner plate, or the ranch-raised High Plain Bison filets might make an appearance on the menu. For anyone who has not had the opportunity to taste bison, this is the perfect place to indulge in a culinary adventure. By the way, the staff was happy to accommodate a guest’s gluten-free diet request.
If you enjoy outdoor activities and breathtaking scenery, this is truly Wyoming’s unique selling point. The Lodge at Jackson Fork Ranch captures the feeling of true subtle peace in the backcountry without giving up luxury.
